MicroOLAP Technologies has released Database Designer for MySQL v. 1.8, a powerful Windows application that makes database creation and maintenance quick and easy. The program is designed for MySQL, and it supports all of MySQL's SQL syntax extensions, as well as all types of MySQL tables, references, triggers, stored procedures, functions, and field types.
Database Designer for MySQL lets you build your database structure visually. It diagrams all of your tables, the references between them, views, and stored procedures. You can even import existing MySQL, Microsoft Access, Sybase, Oracle, Informix, MSSQL, DBF, and other types of databases into your diagram.
The program's intuitive tools let you design and tune your database. There's an easy-to-use table column editor, a reference editor, and a table index editor.
With a few clicks, you can turn your diagram into a ready-to-use MySQL database. When you need to change your database, simply change the diagram. Database Designer for MySQL will generate the complex SQL statements needed to modify your database. You can synchronize several databases to the state of your diagram.
Database Designer for MySQL reduces the time you spend documenting your database system. It's easy to generate powerful reports that describe all of the database objects within your diagram. You can export a graphical representation of your database to popular image formats, and print your diagram on multiple pages.
Database Designer for MySQL has a direct connection to MySQL, with no need for ODBC or ADO/OLEDB intermediaries. It supports MySQL 3.x and newer.
Later in 2005, MicroOLAP Technologies will release Database Designer and InteractiveSQL for both PostgreSQL and EnterpriseDB servers.
